Sunsaria (formerly Psyburbia) is the alias of multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer Baz Bardoe.  From his secret base in the remote desert planes of North-west Victoria, Sunsaria delivers a knockout blow of spaced out downtempo diversity with his new album ‘Australien’.

‘Australien’ harkens back to a golden age of electronic music when artists such as The Orb, Massive Attack and Future Sound of London were producing their masterpieces.  Musicianship and organic sounds mesh with synthesis and samples under a canopy of psychedelic chilled electronica.  Sunsaria draws on space rock such as Pink Floyd, hip hop, ambient music and pop, bringing a filmic soundscape sensibility to his spacey downtempo grooves. Take a rare aural journey to the great warehouse party in the sky, via all the chill-out rooms, forest raves and loungeroom DJ sets you’ve ever visited in an alternative dimension. 

‘Australien’ features guest appearances and collaborations from Melbourne dub icons Winduptoys; internationally-renowned techno experimentalist Robin Rimbaud, aka Scanner, as well as singer/songwriter Lulea and trance experimentalist Rip Van Hippy. Locally ‘Australien’ is being released by the well respected Tempest Recordings, whilst Sunsaria is signed to the iconic Invisible Recordings in the USA (the label founded by Martin Atkins of Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Public Image, Ministry and Pigface).

Bardoe has released music on a diverse range of international labels including Matsuri Productions (UK); Invisible (USA); Cosmic Leaf (Greece); Chillosophy (Sweden); Nova Tekk (Germany); and local labels Creative Vibes, Clan Analogue, EMI, JJJ and Tempest Recordings. 

Bardoe’s production and performance credits include work with artists such as Martin Atkins (Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Pigface, Public Image and Ministry); Bernie Torme (Ozzy Osbourne band, Ian Gillan, Atomic Rooster etc); Josh Abrahams; Pigface (industrial ‘supergroup’); The Damage Manual (Jah Wobble and members of Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Ministry and Pigface); Rip Van Hippy; Martyrs Shrine (death metal); Lulea, local dub icons Wind Up Toys, and the Omm Squad. 

As a live electronic music artist and DJ, Bardoe has played at festivals such as Nocturnal, Earthcore, Big Day Out, Offshore, Rainbow Serpoent, Massive (NZ) and the Falls, as well as venues such as the Hi-Fi Bar, Corner Hotel, Punter’s Club, Northcote Social Club and Loop.
